About the Artist

Artist Bio

Jasmine Cabrera is an Illinois artist who primarily does digital art and animation. She has experience in both 2D and 3D animation but she prefers 2D as that medium is her primary focus.

Since she was a child, Jasmine has always had a passion for art, drawing inspiration from various pieces of media, from movies to tabletop games. In her youth, she would develop a habit of doodling; creating the various characters and creatures that came to mind. The point at which she decided to become an animator went as far back as middle school, where she dreamed of bringing her creations to life. Jasmine has since built up her art skills and knowledge at Waubonsee Community College and, later on, Northern Illinois University. She’s been on the Dean’s List for several years at NIU and had one of her video works “Life Struggle” be exhibited in the campus gallery. She plans on making more passion projects soon and continues to hone her skills to this day.
